Sam Nakahira is a comic artist and illustrator from Los Angeles. She makes comics around overlooked histories, the natural world, and dreams—mostly within a framework of Japanese and Japanese American history and mythology. Her graphic novel, Ruth Asawa: An Artist Takes Shape was published by the Getty Museum and Abrams Books in March 2024.
