About the workshop:
Do you want to find a literary agent for your graphic novel, but don’t know how to get started? In this two-hour workshop, cartoonist Al Benbow will cover the basics of how to get an agent: preparing you pitch, querying agents, and how to know when you’ve found an agent that’s right for you. Al will share examples from the query and graphic novel pitch that they used to get their agent, and cover best practices for querying.

This is a 2-hour online workshop on Thursday March 6, 5-7pm PST/8-10pm EST. The workshop is capped at 25 participants. Everyone who signs up will receive a Zoom link via email and then a recording of the workshop afterwards.

• An idea for a graphic novel or longer comic you want to pitch to a publisher someday
About the teacher:
Al Benbow is a graphic designer, illustrator, and comic artist. Their work, which usually centers around their identity as a nonbinary butch lesbian, has won multiple awards, and their comic “A Dyke Like Me” appeared in Issue 004 of Transmuted. Born and raised in the Midwest, they now live in Massachusetts with their partner, their cat, and their four-year-old goldfish.
